Gaza Pull out- An Act of Desperation

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has won the approval of his cabinet to reshape Israel's Destiny.  It will commence with the forced withdrawal of Jewish settlers; thousands of Israeli citizens, together with their young families will be removed.  The use of military force has been given by the Sharon Government.

Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Nathan Sharansky, the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, dissented from voting.  By doing so they sent a strong message of displeasure and anger with the forced displacement of Israeli citizens, all within Israeli settlements in the Gaza area.

Sharon's Actions are a complete reversal of his sixty-year career where he advocated land and settlement as the way to secure a safe state.  With over 5,000 mortars falling on the settlements one wonders what will happen next.

For the past three years more acts of terrorism have originated from the Egyptian border of Gaza.  The terrorists have used Gaza as a launching pad for violent acts and bombings of Israelis Main land.  Today no part of Israel is safe.

Sharon's Actions remind me of the following silly story.  In the city of Chelm, notorious for its foolishness, a rash of robberies took place.  Every night a home or business was broken into and items were stolen.  The chief of police approached the wise man for advice in stopping the robberies.  Simple, said the wise man.  Remove the doors and there will be no more break-ins!

By giving up Gaza and allowing the land to be purged of its Jewish inhabitants, a layer of safety is being removed.  Now more than ever terrorists can enter Gaza and leave into Israel Causing havoc of untold proportions. With the recent plans of releasing 500-700 Palestinian prisoners we can only face more devastation and violence.  I am very concerned that the return of Gaza and Jericho to the Palestinians Government. This may be the beginning of the disintegration of the state of Israel.

It’s been said that Shalom has three meanings, hello, peace and good-bye.  The Gaza Pullout doesn't mean hello, or Peace, it means good-bye.

Sadly it may mean Good-bye Israel and to all of its loyal settlers.
