It is hard to imagine a spacecraft on target traveling more than 2.2 billion miles, yet it happened this month.  It took close to seven years for a Cassini Saturn Space Probe to reach Saturn’s rings.  The craft travels at 54,000 M.P.H. and cost $1.4 billion to deIsign and another $2 billion to fly.  Now that is a lot of money to prove a scientific miracle.

In the world of Hollywood a movie by Michael Moore, Fahrenheit 9/11 was shown.  The film shows scenes of Americans and Iraqis at war in Iraq.  Its message seems to be that the war was unneeded and may have been caused by corruption.  Most of all the terrorist bombing in New York on 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq.  The public has been very passionate about the film.  There is no middle way, either you believe Moore’s moral outrage or you don’t.  His film is anti-Bush and invites a conspiracy theory.  How does Moore get away with this kind of film?  He even wins the Cannes Film Festival top prize.  Why so much conflict?

The recent Mel Gibson’s movie, The Passion, evokes the same two opposing sides.   Either you are passionate about Jesus, or will consider the story hogwash.  The truth is we can never really know what happened during the life of Jesus.

Movies like these are reminiscent of Oliver Stone’s J.F.K. film.  All conspiracy films distort history.  When you view the film you are left with questions of absolute truths.

For the life of me if we can put a space probe into space for seven years and spend close to $4 billion doing it why can’t we know the truth of what is happening here on earth?

It was also truly incredible to hear the nefarious Saddam declare, “I am Saddam Hussein, President of the Republic of Iraq.”  He went on to state that there couldn’t be a trial “This is a theater by Bush the criminal.”  Such defiance is sheer chutzpah.  A despicable human being portraying himself as a freely elected president and accusing President Bush of staging the trial as an entertainment theater!  Maybe Mr. Moore should add Saddam’s accusation to his 9/11 film.  It would probably ruin his chances of portraying a dishonest story as true.

Lenin may have had it right when he said, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”

Why can’t we get to the bottom of the matter? Why are there still unanswered questions regarding the 9/11 Saddam connections? With all our elected officials portraying themselves as America’s choice why can’t we get the truth?

A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes, - Mark Twain.
