Clinton & The Legal Defense Fund
Good luck on our government's newest fund, the Legal Defense Fund. This pompous development comes directly from a White House source, the President. Beginning this week you can give up to $1,000 to this very special and new fund. You, the honest taxpayer, have the opportunity to help our government in a way that you never thought possible.
Maybe they will call this fund the new CDF. If you are wondering what the old CDF is, I can help you. It's the famous "Children's Defense Fund" where Hillary Clinton was active before moving to the White House. The old CDF are advocates for children's rights and protection. However, the new CDF would stand for the Clinton Defense Fund!
Can you imagine anything more absurd than having our president, the most important man in the world establishing a fund for his personal legal defense. What's happening to the pride of our glorious country?
The reason given to the public for the establishment of this fund is that the president is too poor to pay for legal counsel.
Can you imagine what other countries must be thinking? They have been dealing with a person who can⬢t afford his legal bills. How can they take the president seriously, look him in the eye and speak about world peace, especially when he is being accused of financial abuse in the Whitewater inquiry, followed by accusations of sexual misconduct!
By establishing this fund to protect the President, the government is giving credence to any accusations and, subsequently, they will need to protect the presidency from shame and guilt. Perhaps it will be done by putting the president above the law. Thus, the fund will boomerang, defeating the legal process.
If left up to Clinton's lawyers, the President would be immune from any and all civil suits. All this is under the guise of protecting the interest of the public. They claim that a civil suit would distract the President from managing the nation on a daily schedule. Clinton's personal lawyer, Robert S. Bennet, even filed a motion in federal court asking for a delay of all legal actions starting with the Paula Jones case. This would be in effect until Clinton leaves the White House. This latest fiasco is a display of our nation losing complete control of its senses.
We are mixing up the need to protect the Presidency of the USA and a person who has legal problems prior to taking office!
The accusing Mrs. Paula Jones asks the public to help finance her legal fees. She, too, needs a defense fund. After all it costs a lot of money to prove her case. She says the President is not above the law. The President has acted badly to her, and she will get justice by hook or crook. She claims that she was too frightened to come forth earlier and did so now only to clear her name.
Remember, we are talking about accusing the President of the USA and not some fly-by-night country, here one day, and gone the next. In stating her case years after the alleged incident, and not having any witnesses for her allegation, she acts as if she is above the law.
There are those who may say, "So what? Who cares about the embarrassment she causes the President?" I do. I may not worry for this President, but I certainly worry about the Presidency of our country.
Until the truth is discovered we should be concerned with how the presidency will look in the eyes of the world. Our prestige in the world is at stake here.
After all, for Paula, it makes no difference if she loses or wins, as long as she can sell skirts, blouses and jeans for a clothing company. Understandably she does this to pay her bills. Remember this; whether President Bill Clinton wins or loses, we all lose.
Too bad Bill Clinton doesn't look that good in tee shirts and jeans. If he did, we would have no need for a "CDF" fund.
